Job summary

Hendricks Regional Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to support quality patient care by ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transport of patients throughout the facility. You will move patients to admissions, discharges, diagnostics, and other designated service locations.

Responsibilities include safe transport using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs, maintaining patient dignity and privacy, monitoring patients, and reporting changes to clinical staff.

• Safely transport patients using beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, or other approved transport equipment.
• Assist with the safe handling and movement of patients while maintaining dignity, comfort, and privacy.
• Monitor patients during transport and promptly report any changes in condition or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transfers and ensure continuity of care.
• Adhere to all organizational safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient transport procedures.
• Ensure equipment used during transport is handled properly and maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service to patients, families, and team members.
• Support timely patient movement to minimize delays in care, treatment, testing, and discharge processes.
