Ultipro in Florida is seeking an EMS Patient Transporter to respond to calls efficiently and deliver high-standard patient care in a safe environment. You will serve patients and partners with a focus on customer service while following company SOPs.

The role requires maintaining professional appearance, attending CE and compliance training, and routinely inspecting equipment and vehicle readiness. A background in patient transport is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • CPR & First Aid certification training provided on-site by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt and regular attendance at work.
  • Provide quality patient care by adhering to Policies and Procedures in the Employee Handbook.
  • Assess and transport wheelchair and stretcher patients using appropriate techniques.
  • Maintain neat and professional appearance per SOP.
  • Keep the vehicle and equipment clean and ready for response.
  • Know the vehicle/equipment and report any defective items to the supervisor.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships within the community and healthcare system.
  • Adhere to all SOPs and participate in CE and compliance training.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job description

This position reports to a Supervisor. A EMS Patient Transporter is accountable for responding to all assigned calls in the most appropriate and efficient manner, providing the highest standards of patient care while providing a safe and hazard-free environment. An EMS Patient Transporter provides a high level of customer service to patients and partners at all times.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prompt and regular attendance at work.
  • Provide quality patient care by adhering to Policies and Procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Assess and transport with appropriate techniques (resources and equipment), wheelchair and stretcher patients while maintaining the highest standard of customer care and professionalism according to current company standards.
  • Must maintain neat and professional appearance at all times in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain the vehicle and equipment in a clean, organized and response ready mode.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the vehicle and equipment, its function and use and reporting defective equipment and supplies to the supervisor as required.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other individuals within the community and healthcare systems.
  • Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures provided in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Must attend Continuing Education (CE) and compliance training as required.
  • Performs other such duties as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • CPR & First Aid (Company provides on-site CPR & First Aid certification training)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in patient transport or hired car service.
Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; step, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry a minimum of 140 pounds up to 200 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood/body fluids, requires respirator use, fumes/odors, extended day, and temperature changes. Frequently works with others, face-to-face contact with others with exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment. Performs shift work and performs duties frequently in a mobile environment and in confined areas.
