Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a Patient Transport Driver for the Hospital/Galveston area. You will operate transport vehicles, log mileage and trips, and ensure safe patient transfers within a correctional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, data entry, and supporting administrative tasks. The role requires a high school diploma and a valid Texas driver’s license, with shifts potentially rotating and travel within a wide geographic area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of related experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe, prompt transfers of patients between correctional facilities, Hospital Galveston and other destinations.
• Maintain daily mileage, trips, passengers, destinations, and fuel/oil logs.
• Inspect vehicle conditions including oil, fuel, tires and water; report repairs as needed.
• Provide aseptic techniques, infection control measures, and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Enter data, draft routine correspondence, and generate routine reports using a computer.
• Perform general clerical tasks such as answering phones, filing, scanning, and mail handling.
