Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a Patient Care Assistant to transport patients between clinical and non-clinical areas and nursing units. The role includes assisting with basic ADLs, monitoring equipment, and supporting patient flow throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• HS/GED is required.
• BLS certification is required at time of hire.
• Receives on-the-job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established departmental policies, procedures and expectations.
• Transport patients between units and departments, and assist with mobility and ambulation as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team members.
• Retrieve, store and transport oxygen cylinders per hospital policy.
• Assist with patient transfers using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds as directed.
• Support bed tracking and patient flow with PCC (Presbyterian Care Connection).
• Deliver specimens between Laboratory and inpatient units; transport x-rays and equipment.
