Patient Transport Associate

Job Description

The Patient Transport Associate is responsible for the transportation and transfer of all patients to and from inpatient rooms, clinical testing areas, and procedural areas. They provide transportation of patients as assigned, using designated methods such as wheelchairs or stretchers. The associate reports the intended transport or return of patients to the nurse in charge of the area, observes patients for adverse changes in condition or appearance during transport, and verifies transport tasks with the person at the assignment location. They report the completion of assignments appropriately and ensure that equipment is properly assembled, cleaned, maintained, and delivered.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to pass hospital-administered Basic Skills test.
• BLS Certification required.
