The transporter transports patients to and from the department. Other duties include but are not limited to; Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties. This performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
