Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a House Supervisor to oversee clinical and administrative operations, ensuring safe patient care and efficient throughput. You will coordinate resources, work with staffing offices, and partner with clinical leaders to staff departments appropriately.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN with 3+ years of supervisory experience in acute care and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with flexibility for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with hospital information systems and throughput programs.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive management or house supervisor experience.
• Knowledge of JCAHO and regulatory requirements in acute care.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Complete understanding of acuity levels for all patient populations.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical and administrative operations to ensure safe patient care.
• Coordinate clinical and nursing resources to optimize patient flow.
• Collaborate with staffing office and unit leaders to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Work with Capacity Management, Transfer Center, Care Management, and operations to maintain throughput.
• Assess patient care and safety issues and escalate as needed with relevant teams.
• Serve as a liaison between teams and escalate to directors or on-call administrators when necessary.
