Job summary

The Patient Observer role at Moffitt Cancer Center involves constant inpatient and/or remote observation of assigned patients, under the direction of a registered nurse. You will monitor via remote visual systems and alert staff when assistance is needed.

You must be able to verbally redirect risky behaviors and use technology to support safe patient care. Required include a High School Diploma or GED and BLS; familiarity with medical terminology and strong communication skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience in patient care settings desirable.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant inpatient and/or remote patient observation under RN supervision.
• Monitor patients via remote visual monitoring and intervene as needed.
• Verbally redirect patients from risk behaviors and alert nursing staff as required.
• Utilize technology for visualization and safe patient care.
