Summary:

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This role combines responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician, Cardiac Monitor Technician, Visual Monitor, Mental Health/Patient Care Technician, or Unit Secretary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Certification includes Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Candidates should have at least 6 months of acute care experience, 1 year of Skilled Nursing Facility experience, completion of a BayCare-approved Nurse Assistant/PCT program, or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program. EMT certification or Paramedic license is required for ER positions. If the candidate lacks experience in sterile technique, urinary catheter insertion/removal, or IV seal removal, completion of a BayCare PCT Course with competencies within 90 days of hire is necessary.

Education and Credential Requirements:

• Essential: High School diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training as per the summary.
• Credential: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification relevant to the specialty.
