Job summary

Community Care Physicians is seeking a part-time Patient Support Specialist to join our team. This role supports front desk operations, greets patients, and manages check-ins and insurance verification across two Schenectady-area offices.

The position requires high school completion with clerical experience in a medical setting, strong customer service, and confidentiality. Two days weekly, with these locations offering morning to evening shifts in a friendly medical environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, providers, managers, co-workers and external customers.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on the appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary.

Our Community Care Regional Podiatry and Surgery officeis hiring a part-time Patient Support Specialist to join their team!

This is a 16-18 hour work week:Two days per week, either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Two consecutive days preferred. Tuesdays 8:00am-4:30pm or 6:00pm at our Niskayuna office located on Balltown Road, Wednesday 8:00am-4:30pm or 6:00pm at our North Greenbush office located on Jordan Road, Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm. Niskayuna office.

The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills, preferably in the medical field. This position is formerly known as a Medical Secretary.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.

Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
