This position is full-time (40 hours/week) with flexible days. Employees are required to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours 8:30am-5:00pm PST (Department operates 24/7). It may be necessary to work year-round, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.

We offer 6 weeks of paid on-the-job training from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST.

If you are located within Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, taking on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Meet performance goals in patient satisfaction, accuracy, quality, and attendance.
  • Adhere to departmental standards and metrics, evaluated daily.
  • Provide superior customer service, demonstrating care and concern with every interaction.
  • Multi-task using double monitors for data entry, phone etiquette, and resource utilization.
  • Exchange complex and sensitive information, acting as a patient advocate.
  • Assist colleagues with paperwork and resolve patient issues.
  • Recognize risks based on customer interactions and follow procedures.
  • Utilize Optum systems to resolve customer needs including appointments, claims, benefits, and appeals.
  • Translate oral information into concise written documentation.
  • Assist members with PCP choices and general medical group information.
  • Page clinicians and assist Telehealth Nurses as needed (e.g., arranging DME, transportation, and home health).
  • Enter PCP changes and process paperwork.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and navigating multiple chat channels (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on any day, with shifts during 8:30am-5:00pm PST, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working remotely and with multiple screens.
Telecommuting Requirements
  • Reside within Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones.
  • Secure a dedicated, private work area.
  • Have access to high-speed internet.
  • Adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $28.85, depending on experience and location. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock options, and 401(k). The application will be open for a minimum of 2 business days or until enough candidates are collected.
