Patient Support Assistant (PSA) - Behavioral Health - Skokie (Part Time)

Hourly Pay Range: $18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:
  • Position: Patient Support Assistant
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Part Time (12 hours)
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 9am - 5:30pm
  • Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need
What you will do:
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments and handle each as appropriate in accordance with NorthShore telephone customer service standards and practice protocols including documenting in Epic telephone encounters.
  • Utilize Epic to schedule and register all new, established, and post-procedure patients in accordance with patient and physician preferences, physician availability, and practice protocols.
  • Obtain prior authorization for procedures.
  • Review provider templates.
  • Provide other administrative support under the direction of the Physicians and Practice Manager.
What you will need:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 1 – 2 years in an administrative/customer service position, EPIC knowledge and experience preferred. Enjoy working at a fast pace with the capacity to multi-task, displays flexibility, and takes initiative.
