RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Sitter for RWJ Hamilton, within the Nursing Float Pool, on the Day shift with a 36-hour work week. The role focuses on patient safety, companionship, and supportive non-medical care.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Strong verbal and written communication skills and teamwork are preferred to ensure excellent patient experience.

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Sitter for RWJ Hamilton.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• BLS required through American Heart Association

Preferred:

• Prior experience in patient care preferred
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with others effectively
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Scheduling Requirements

• 36 hours a week - Day shift with rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and rotating holidays required

Essential Functions

• The Patient Sitter is support staff assigned to monitor and ensure the safety of patients, particularly those at risk of injury or requiring constant supervision,
• Their primary role is to prevent accidents, assist with non-medical needs, and provide companionship to the patient
