Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Patient Services Rep II-Primary care (Finance) to manage patient intake, data verification, charge entry and cash collection in a fast-paced pediatric setting. You will support appointment scheduling, authorization, referrals and Medicaid assistance while ensuring confidential handling of information.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 2 years of medical office experience, with proficiency in data entry and EPIC software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of medical office experience.
• Computer/typing skills are required.
• Clerical office experience in a physician's office preferred; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive patients in a professional and caring manner.
• Gather and update demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Obtain authorization and pre-certification.
• Document and follow up on referrals.
• Document and follow up on no-shows and cancellations.
• Answer phones with proper etiquette and route calls.
• Maintain medical records organization and filing.
• Register patients, collect payments, post charges, issue receipts.
• Order clerical and clinical supplies and maintain records.
• Monitor waiting rooms and inform patients of delays.
• Assist families with Medicaid coverage and Nemours Financial Assistance.
• Assist with transportation arrangements and patient flow.
• Prepare office communications and participate in quality improvement.
• Scan documents into EPIC and manage filing.
