Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Media, PA is seeking a Medical Office Clerk to handle scheduling, patient intake, data verification, charge entry and cash collection. You will manage medical records, coordinate referrals, and process payments with confidentiality and accuracy.

The role requires 2+ years of medical office experience and proficiency with computer systems; EPIC experience is preferred. You will support transportation arrangements and patient flow while upholding Nemours standards.

  • Greet patients professionally and maintain a caring demeanor.
  • Gather and update demographics and insurance information confidentially.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Obtain authorization and pre-certification.
  • Document and follow up on referrals.
  • Document and follow up on no-shows and cancellations.
  • Answer phones with proper etiquette and direct calls accordingly.
  • Maintain medical records content and organization.
  • Register patients, collect payments, post charges and provide receipts.
  • Perform cash reconciliation and prepare bank deposits.
  • Order clerical and clinical supplies and maintain records.
  • Monitor waiting rooms and inform patients about delays.
  • Advise families on Medicaid coverage and Nemours Financial Assistance.

  • Receive patients in a professional and caring manner.

Position Qualifications
