Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center (PHSC), seeks a dedicated Patient Service Representative for our on-site Physical Therapy Clinic in Aston, PA. You will be the first point of contact, handling check-in/check-out, insurance verification, scheduling, and payments while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of patient registration or front office experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance rules and EMR systems preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge patients promptly and notify staff of arrivals.
• Answer calls accurately and relay messages as needed.
• Assist patients with medical history forms and data collection.
• Collect demographics, insurance info, and authorizations.
• Collect co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due balances; explain financial responsibilities.
• Complete insurance verifications and notify parties of coverage issues.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Scan patient information and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Prepare charts for the following day according to the schedule.
• Maintain a secure cash drawer and balance daily.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain an organized and professional front office workspace.
• Follow front office SOPs and site protocols.
