We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Indian Land team.

The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies, and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit.
  2. Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed including posting of charges.
  3. Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and balances due.
  4. Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of insurance
  • Epic/EMR background is a plus
  • Medical terminology

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate and/or an associate or bachelor's degree
  • Prefer a minimum of one year experience in a medical clinic setting.
