Job summary

Harborview Medical Center's Radiology Services team seeks a Patient Services Specialist 3 for a full-time, 12:30pm–9:00pm shift, Monday through Friday, on-site at Harborview in Seattle. You will schedule patients with focus on safety, audit orders, and support training within Epic-based workflows.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2+ years in Patient Services or a comparable role; related experience in scheduling and patient communication is valued.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Two years Patient Services Specialist 2 experience or equivalent.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients focusing on patient safety and reducing health errors.
• Participate in process improvement projects.
• Audit online tickets and scheduling accuracy of orders and referrals.
• Act as a subject expert for the department scheduling model and troubleshoot Epic errors.
• Train new staff and act as a go-to team resource.
• Support team Lead in day-to-day operational goals.
• Respond to patient needs with a Patient First mindset.

Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography). Many modalities have same-day and next-day availability. All of UW Medicine’s radiologists are board-certified and sub-specialized in a variety of areas such as neuroradiology, body radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, chest radiology and more. Imaging findings are integrated with all clinical data to generate comprehensive and actionable patient assessments. Reports and images seamlessly integrate with your UW Medicine electronic medical record (MyChart) and are available to you and your care provider shortly after the exam has been completed.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Schedule patients focusing on patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical health errors
• Participate in process improvement projects
• Audit online tickets, scheduling appointments for accuracy of order placement, referral completion and resource selection
• Act as a subject expert for the department scheduling model, think critically, and troubleshoot Epic errors for the team
• Function proficiently within the team to assist with training of new staff and act as go team resource
• Support team Lead in day-to-day operational goals
• Respond to patient's need and concerns as appropriate maintaining Patient First mentality

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Two years Patient Services Specialist 2 experience
• OR
• equivalent combination of education/experience
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
