Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to manage front-end operations at the clinic, including patient registration, demographic verification, and scheduling within the EHR/EPM system.

You will verify insurance, collect due amounts, and flag uninsured patients for potential AHCCCS eligibility, coordinating with the eligibility team for enrollment. The role requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and the ability to work with AHCCCS and insurance

Qualifications

  • Must have AHCCCS, insurance knowledge and strong customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Equivalency of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Handle patient registration and demographic verification.
  • Verify insurance and determine patient amounts due at visit.
  • Schedule intake and follow-up appointments in the EHR/EPM system.
  • Assist with AHCCCS screening referrals through the eligibility team.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure services are provided smoothly.

Job Summary

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front-end business operations for the assigned clinic including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, create and maintaining patient electronic chart. This position answers incoming calls to the clinic and routes as needed, schedules intake appointments within established timeframes in the CBI EHR/EPM scheduling system. Obtains necessary demographic information including, but not limited to: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, insurance information. Completes insurance verifications for each patient visit and identifies any patient amounts due at the time service is provided. For uninsured patients, identifies any potential funding source, and identifies those potentially eligible for AHCCCS and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application. Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services to be completed. Schedules follow up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.

Skills/Requirements
  • Highschool Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare is preferred.
  • 1- 3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required of this position.
  • Must have knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer service skills.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
