Patient Services Representative (Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates)

UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative to support Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates located at 200 Delafield Rd Suite 1040, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. This role will work Monday through Friday during daylight hours (e.g., 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm).

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly and guide them through self-arrival technology or check-in at the desk based on patient preference.
  • Collect copayments and other applicable payments at the point of service.
  • Confirm and update patient registration information at checkout.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and ancillary services, and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
  • Register patients in biometric programs and promote the MyUPMC portal.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning medical records and faxing.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain signatures for consent following HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle phone calls appropriately and provide patient education on financial responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with computer applications and office equipment preferred.
  • Two years of experience in medical billing, customer service, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with health record systems like Medipac or Epic preferred.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Act 34 clearance required.
