DAP Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative Floater to provide exceptional front-office support across multiple clinics in San Diego County. You will greet patients, register visitors, verify insurance, and schedule appointments while ensuring HIPAA-compliant service.

The role requires traveling between sites and assisting with patient communications via MyChart and in person. A friendly, bilingual (Spanish/English) approach is preferred to serve diverse communities effectively.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients at check-in and check-out with a welcoming, patient-centered approach.
  • Register new patients and update demographics and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance and coordinate with Care coordinators as needed.
  • Schedule appointments, handle no-shows, and respond to MyChart messages.
  • Assist patients with using MyChart and other patient portals.
  • Travel between DAP Health clinic sites to support operations as needed.

In addition, this position also requires traveling between sites and other locations as needed. The PatientServices Representative Floater will fill in and support other clinics on an as needed basis to cover time off, training, or as directed.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEssential Duties/ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist everyone who walks in the door with eye contact and a smile, ensuring everyone feels welcome and cared forRegister new patients and patients who have fallen out of care either in person or over the phoneGather all documents required for new patient registration, ensuring accurate patient demographics and guarantor information at every patient visitIdentify patients who require program assistance and schedule patients with Care Coordinator Specialist for assessment and program enrollmentAnswer incoming calls within 3-4 rings and make patient calls in a courteous and professional mannerReturn voicemails by the end of the next business daySchedule patient follow-up appointments, confirm upcoming appointments, and reschedule as indicatedEnsure that appropriate insurance is selected for services rendered for the date of the scheduled visitCheck patients in and out for scheduled or walk-in appointmentsEnsure patients are empaneled according to provider of record and keep up to date with the provider's panel managementAssist and encourage patients with signing up for MyChartAnswer MyChart patient messages related to registration and/or appointment schedulingAssist patients using tablets or other devices to obtain demographic information required to establish electronic record as neededRun, review, and demonstrate understanding of insurance eligibilityScan all information pertaining to registration into EHRMonitor and respond to website inquiries requesting new patient informationCollect and turn in Release of Information (ROI) to HIM departmentCollect applicable co-pays and outstanding balances at time of check inKeep track of daily incoming documentation for providersFollow up on no-shows and send out no-show letter as stated on no-show workflowsAdvise Case Manager or EIS Worker when patients indicate need for linkage to internal/external resources (when applicable)Keep supervisor informed of office equipment upkeep/maintenanceComplete appointment confirmation calls for unconfirmed patients 24 hours priorPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to maintain recognized medical industry standards of high quality, client-centered services that are HIPAA compliantProficiency in MS Office applicationsComputer expertise in database inputEffective communication skills, both written and oralExcellent customer service skillsBilingual in Spanish/English, preferredEducation and ExperienceAt least 1 year of experience in medical front office operations preferred – including but not limited to registration process, use of medical terminology, medical insurance, and referral authorizationsPrevious experience working with Electronic Health Records preferredCurrent BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsThis position has a home base at a DAP Health clinic locationAbility to lift 24 poundsOperates in an office setting at times and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and frequent phone calls/conversationsAbility to travel to sites around San Diego County, to include Escondido and Borrego Springs as needed. Mileage reimbursement provided per company policy.Requires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance as well reliable transportation and a clean driving record
