SUPERVISION: Data Analyst

EMPLOYMENT: Full Time – Non-Exempt

DESCRIPTION:

This position is accountablefor receiving patients in a courteous, professional manner in a fast-paced,dynamic clinical environment. Additionally, this role will be responsible forscheduling patients on the phone or in person, along with verifying insurancecoverage and collecting payments from patients.Given the busy nature of the clinic, the position requires the abilityto effectively multi-task and remain focused amidst frequent interruptions. This position demands strong organizationalskills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer serviceexcellence with the operational needs of a hightraffic health care environment.This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday throughFriday.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responds to incoming calls and addressesinquiries quickly, professionally, and courteously.
  • Greets patients and determines patient needs ina professional manner
  • Registers patients according to establishedprotocols
  • Assists patients to complete all necessary formsand documentation including medical insurance
  • Communicate with medical staff via phone,electronically, and in person
  • Ensures patient information is accurateincluding billing information
  • Ensures all patient forms are completed and given to the designated department in a timely manner
  • Responsible for patient appointment reminders
  • Moves patients through appointments as scheduled
  • Verifies Insurance coverage and Co-Pays
  • Collects co-pays and payments
  • Responds and complies to requests forinformation
  • Maintains stock of form and office supplies
  • Ensures reception area is well maintained, neatand clean
  • Provide front office coverage across departmentsas needed
  • Adapt quickly to varying workflows anddepartment-specific procedures
  • Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Completes all other clerical duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, writtenand typed
  • Professional and customer relation skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented, accurate andefficient
  • Must have efficient and accurate typingskills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to two years’ customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance
  • One year of prior experience in a medical officesetting
  • Working knowledge of an ElectronicMedical/Dental Record system
  • Familiar with patient statements, EOBs, co-pays,and deductibles as identified by 3 rd party payers
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Fast paced with occasional high pressure oremergent situations
  • May wear PPE such as gloves or a mask
  • Frequent interaction with a diverse populationincluding team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and othermembers of the public
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching,grasping, carrying, and speaking
  • Occasional bending, stooping, lifting less than20 pounds
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50pounds, with assistance if needed
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, fax and copymachine, and telephone

This position is considered a sensitive position and is subject to drugand alcohol testing. All offers of employment are conditional based on theapplicant submitting to and successfully passing a drug and alcohol screenwhich includes THC and future random drug testing in accordance with LVDHC’stesting procedure.

Preference will be given to qualified individuals of American Indian descent.
