Responsibilities
  1. Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
  2. Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
  3. Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry from requisitions.
  4. Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  5. Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as required by test order.
  6. Use iLabs daily for assigned accounts to ensure accurate billing data.
  7. Provide CIR and PPE Resolution reports to the Director as scheduled.
  8. Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, and answering phones as needed.
  9. Follow departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, ensuring staff compliance.
  10. Verify patient demographic info and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to ensure correct labeling.
  11. Assist with compiling and submitting monthly statistics and data.
  12. Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  13. Complete training and stay updated on phlebotomy techniques.
  14. Travel to off-site or after-hours meetings if needed.
  15. Participate in special projects and teams.
  16. Stay informed on company communications.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to company policies, dress code, and safety guidelines.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift objects weighing 1-15 pounds frequently; 16-25 pounds occasionally; 26-40 pounds seldom; over 41 pounds not to be lifted without assistance.
  • Sit or stand for long periods; perform repetitive tasks.
  • Travel required.
  • Use phone and PC extensively.
  • Perform fine motor skills and bending/kneeling as needed.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
