Patient Services Rep II-Behavior and Development

Job Description

Nemours is seeking a PSR II for our Behavior and Development team in Wilmington, DE.

Primary Functions
  • Greets families according to Nemours Standards of Behavior and AIDET.
  • Check in/out patients for scheduled appointments, verify insurance information, and accurately document in the system.
  • Schedule appointments, make outbound confirmation calls, review copays and account balances, and collect funds as needed.
  • Complete administrative work as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Load/update patient demographics and insurance information accurately in EPIC.
  • Schedule patients and create referral shells according to scheduling protocols.
  • Obtain and understand insurance details, including copays, coverage, and plan types, and update in EPIC.
  • Inform patients about current initiatives like online scheduling and evening clinics.
  • Review appointment details with patients, process prescription refills, and document notes as applicable.
  • Confirm referral requirements and participate in daily huddles.
  • Manage work queues for referrals and PCP updates, process external physician requests, and support incoming messages via MyNemours.
  • Suggest process improvements during daily huddles and complete mandatory training annually.
  • Assist with discharge follow-up calls.
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months to 1 year of medical experience.
  • Computer and typing skills required.
  • Clerical experience in a physician's office and EPIC experience preferred.
