- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
- Research test/client information, confirm, and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directories of services.
- Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test orders from requisitions.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
- Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by the test order.
- Work in iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate billing data.
- Provide CIR and PPE Resolution reports to the Director as scheduled.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, ensuring staff adherence.
- Verify patient demographic info and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to ensure proper labeling and identification.
- Assist with compiling and submitting monthly statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs, in a timely manner.
- Complete and stay updated with training courses on phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to off-site Territory Manager meetings or outside normal shifts as required.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay informed on company communications.
Job Requirements
- Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit excellent pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills.
- Be flexible and available for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Adhere to MAKO policies, including dress code, safety, and core principles.
- Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Demonstrate superior customer focus, transparent communication, adaptability, and knowledge of the business.
Physical Requirements
- Lift objects weighing 1-15 pounds frequently; 16-25 pounds occasionally; 26-40 pounds rarely; over 41 pounds with assistance.
- Sit or stand for long periods; perform long hours of eye and hand coordination.
- Perform repetitive hand tasks frequently.
- Travel as required.
- Use phone and PC extensively.
- Require fine hand dexterity and steadiness.
- Push, pull, reach, and twist as needed.

Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
