Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Front Office Assistant for the General Surgery department. The role involves greeting patients, coordinating schedules, updating demographics and insurance details, and handling check-in/check-out tasks to ensure smooth operations.

The position supports efficient patient flow, accurate payer information, and professional service across all patient interactions at multiple locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred certifications in Medical Secretary, MOA or MOT; ICD-10/CPT coding knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in a medical setting or physician’s office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and provides friendly customer service.
• Schedules patient appointments per provider routine.
• Updates demographic/insurance information at visits.
• Performs patient check-in and check-out processes.
• Obtains ABN information for billing purposes.
• Ensures needed orders are provided at checkout/scheduling.
• Collects co-pays and posts payments to patient accounts.
• Scans documents to patient charts and forwards forms for signatures.
• Assists with front desk operations at satellite locations.
