A leading healthcare organization seeks an Administrative Assistant in a clinical setting to perform various patient service and office responsibilities. Job description

In a clinical setting, performs a variety of patient service, administrative duties, and general office work.

Responsible for the efficient flow of escorts, correspondence, and other materials; receiving and directing visitors; and maintaining the physical environment.

Job specific responsibilities:
  • Performs patient service, administrative duties, and general office work.
  • Responsible for the efficient flow of escorts, correspondence, and other materials.
  • Maintains the physical environment.
  • Follows HIPAA Guidelines for the management of patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Participates in special projects as directed.
  • Answers general questions.
  • Greets and directs patients.
  • Answers phones and performs reception responsibilities.
  • Maintains and purges files, photocopies, sorts and distributes mail, and retrieves medical records.
  • Performs light typing and data entry.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of office experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Formal secretarial training preferred.
