Job summary

United Health Services, Inc. in Vestal, NY is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to process referrals, obtain authorizations, and coordinate admissions when applicable. You will work with the clinical team to ensure timely care and effective communication with insurers.

This role requires a high school diploma, two years in healthcare or customer service, and proficiency with EHR and Microsoft Office. The position offers a day shift and a competitive benefits package.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Nurse Manager, this position’s primary function is to process referral requests, obtain authorization for medical services and/or admissions, and coordinate all aspects of the admission process if applicable. The responsibilities of the Patient Services Coordinator include data entry of referrals and authorizations, verification of eligibility and daily communication with insurance companies. The Patient Service Coordinator works closely with the clinical team and medical providers to provide care for our patients in a timely manner.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Rheumatology Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience Minimum Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years' experience working in healthcare OR Two (2) years' experience working in customer service
• Proficient PC skills Knowledge of medical terminology
