Job Details

The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities associated with visits to the practice/department. Responsibilities include obtaining pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures, verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors to ensure an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms.

Job Description
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  • Processes check-in and check-out, point of service activities, and schedules patient appointments via EPIC.
  • Obtains pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures.
  • Maintains efficient practice flow and escalates concerns as appropriate.
  • Greets and interacts professionally with patients and visitors, in person or via phone.
  • Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and complies with all applicable regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include the ability to communicate courteously, support a positive Jefferson Experience, process and interpret data, and multitask effectively in a time-sensitive environment.

Education and Experience

HS Diploma or equivalent required. Customer service and/or patient-facing healthcare experience preferred.
