The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally managing arrival and departure activities related to visits to the practice/department. Responsibilities include obtaining pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures, verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors, ensuring an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms.

  1. Processes check-in and check-out, point of service activities, and schedules patient appointments via EPIC.
  2. Obtains pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures.
  3. Maintains an efficient practice flow and escalates patient or provider concerns as appropriate.
  4. Greets and interacts with patients and visitors professionally, both in person and over the phone.
  5. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Job Description
