OBGYN/Fertility Specialty Clinic has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Service Specialistto join our team. ThePatient Service Specialistis responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Schedule:

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. You will be working an 8-hr shift during our normal business hours of 8am – 5pm. Schedule to be determined by manager upon hire.

If you are located within a commutable distance to an Atrius office that is nearest to you inMAor surrounding locations, you will have the flexibility to work remote* as you take on some tough challenges.Will be required to pick up equipment in person and will be required to work onsite at manager’s discretion (for possible training, or if there are connectivity issues, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Verifies, re-verifies and authorizes patient insurance coverage and eligibility utilizing computer-based patient registration/scheduling system
• Verifies demographic, insurance and other patient information
• Expected to answer high volume of incoming calls
• Expected to cross train to support multiple teams/departments, as needed
• Addresses patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue aligning with department metric
• Identifies problem related priorities, and responds to emergency needs by contacting providers within guidelines
• Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process
• Communicate with patients regarding all information related to scheduled appointments
• Proactively identifies issues and works to resolve them in areas involving patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Advocates for patients as appropriate.
• Effectively deescalates issues with upset patients and practices. Uses advanced listening techniques to understand the issue and give patients options as they are available. Escalates to supervisors only as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of customer service experience in a clinical setting
• Must be 18 years of age OR older

Preferred Qualifications:

• Beginner level of proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Previous call center experience
• EPIC experience / EMR experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Reside within commutable distance to the nearest Atrius location to you
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speedinternet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 to $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
