Patient Service Representative - Northside Medical Associates

Join us as a Patient Service Representative at Central Ohio Primary Care. This role is a key point of contact for patients, providing a positive customer service experience from start to finish during their visit.

Position Details
  • Full Time, Benefits Eligible
  • Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 4:30pm
  • Location: Westerville, OH
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Ensure patients have a positive experience during their visit, whether in-person, telehealth, or over the phone.
  2. Communicate regularly with clinical staff to meet patient and office needs, creating a positive patient experience.
  3. Greet patients and complete check-in procedures, including registration, data entry, and insurance verification.
  4. Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  5. Check out patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and communicate necessary information at checkout.
  6. Answer calls and emails from patients and administrative departments; direct or escalate inquiries as needed. Contact patients for appointment reminders or scheduling.
  7. Perform clerical tasks such as mailing, filing, scanning, scheduling, data entry, managing electronic faxes, and supporting office staff.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality and stay updated on HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
Experience, Education, Licenses & Certifications
  • Preferred: 1 year of administrative experience in healthcare
  • Required: High School diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time effectively, and respond promptly
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, leading by example
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
