Position Title

Patient Service Representative - Lead

Position Summary / Career Interest: The Patient Service Representative Lead supports the supervisor and serves as a resource for training staff, requiring thorough knowledge of all job functions.

Role Overview: Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) are key members of the physician's care team, responsible for front desk operations, greeting and checking in patients, answering calls, managing copay collections, and assisting with appointment scheduling and preparation.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  1. Lead Responsibilities: Model organizational values, assist in onboarding, achieve patient experience targets, and promote a positive environment.
  2. Communication: Engage with staff, provide feedback, and communicate effectively.
  3. Workflow and Standard Work: Ensure correct workflow execution, conduct observations, and escalate issues.
  4. Clinic Projects and Safety: Participate in projects, promote safety, and conduct accreditation exercises.
  5. Patient Scheduling and Registration: Schedule appointments, verify insurance, assist with MyChart, and manage patient documentation.
  6. During Visit: Manage check-in/out, secure signatures, process payments, and support outpatient procedures.
  7. Post-Visit: Schedule follow-ups, support MyChart, and ensure proper clinic coverage.
  8. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in team huddles, support patient experience initiatives, maintain workspace, and adhere to PPE guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ambulatory care, patient registration, or pre-certification, or 1 year with an Associate’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare clerical, registration, or customer service roles.
Language and Knowledge Skills
  • Fluent in English; bilingual skills preferred with proof of proficiency.
  • Basic computer skills, customer service skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
