VillageMD in Livingston, NJ is seeking a Part-time Patient Service Representative / Medical Receptionist to greet patients, manage registration, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and handle payments with accuracy.
The role includes front-desk duties, handling calls, processing referrals, and coordinating with care teams to ensure smooth patient flow and timely pre-authorizations.

Job Description Status: Part Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 8pm with rotating Saturday shift, 7am - 3:30pm Weekly hours/week: 22.5 or 30.5 hours depending on rotating weekend shift

Physical agility, which includes the ability to maneuver the body while in place. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Environmental Risks: Chemicals, Sharps, Latex, Chemotherapy and Fumes Loud noises Vibration Extreme temperatures Confined spaces Allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen Magnetic fields Radiation Combative patients/visitors Blood-borne Pathogen: Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or tissue specimens. Contact with patients or patient specimens is possible. Unplanned or unexpected exposure. Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, and other body fluids.
High School Graduate or GED required. Associate degree preferred. Previous Patient Service Representative / Medical Receptionist experience preferred. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner. Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred. Basic proficiency in computer use required. Previous experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment preferred. Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
Travel to satellite locations as needed.
Pay Range: $18.13 - $22.02 Hourly The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
