Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, schedules appointments, obtains patient information, prepares chart for examination, and handles check-out collections.
• Provides back-up and overflow coverage for Front Office Telephone Operators.
• Receives patients at the reception window and collects required information at check-in.
• Updates patient information including address, phone, insurance, and DOB in EMR.
• Schedules appointments in EMR and posts charges/payments at checkout.
• Verifies late/open balances and discusses balances with patients.
• Collects payments to ensure daily collections.
• Maintains orderly waiting area; notifies staff as needed.
• Follows HIPAA and Privacy policies; ensures equipment isfunctional.
• Performs duties as assigned by Practice Administrator or Physician.

Provides back-up and overflow coverage for Front Office Telephone Operator(s).ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Receives patients at reception window.Obtains required information/documentation from patient at check in.Obtains financial and family information and updates it for each patient on each visit including, address, phone, insurance coverage, and DOB.Updates information and makes changes as necessary in the electronic medical records.Schedules appointments in electronic medical records.Posts charges and payments at the time of check-out for patientVerifies any late or open balances and reminds patient of the outstanding balance.Calls billing assistance to help patient with balance owed questions.Accepts payments and assures daily collections are secured.Balances daily transactions.Assures waiting area is good order throughout the day.
