The Elliot 1 Day Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility located at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. It's designed to provide minimally invasive surgical procedures with the highest level of quality care and patient satisfaction. The surgery center offers a wide range of services including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, urology, and gynecology. Patients can expect the latest technologies and top-level expertise from skilled surgeons and staff. The center also offers pre-surgical testing, post-operative care, and education to ensure a smooth transition back to normal activities.

About the Job

Acts as a representative in all areas of clerical support. Assumes responsibility for all facets of front desk operations including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering demographics and processing referrals. Retrieving and updating medical records, collecting fees and performing general clerical and other duties as assigned in accordance with regulatory and government standards, as well as policies and procedures of Elliot Health System

What You’ll Do

• Greets patients and visitors to the department, performs check-in and notifies appropriate personnel of arrival.
• Provides excellent customer service and serves as a positive representative of EHS in all interactions.
• Receives incoming telephone calls, directs inquiries as appropriate and takes messages.
• Performs required insurance verification activity when appropriate.
• Obtains insurance information through department processes to ensure that proper authorization requirements will be fulfilled.
• Schedules appointments for therapy evaluations and visits based on established guidelines.
• Completes the registration process, explains applicable policies to patients and assists patients with paperwork.
• Maintains workload at the established productivity standard for assigned area.
• Interacts with patients regarding complaints for effective and immediate response and resolution.
• Refers to Office Manager, Team Leader, or Clinical Leader as appropriate Collects payments and charges from the patient at time of service.
• Maintains therapists’ schedules, optimizing effective scheduling of appointments.
• Confirm appointments as directed.
• Interact with and communicate professionally with co-workers, management and patients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a health care office setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
