Job summary

Medix™ is seeking a Patient Services Representative for a remote healthcare assignment serving patients in the Dallas area. You will collaborate with patients, providers, specialty pharmacies, and program teams to remove financial and administrative barriers to treatment.

During training in December, you’ll handle calls, verify insurance and eligibility, and assist with co-pay savings and patient assistance programs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance coordination or patient services
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefits, Medicare Part D, prior authorization, and payer processes
  • Experience with co-pay assistance or patient assistance programs is a plus
  • Pharmacy technician experience within a payer or PBM environment is highly valued
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients and healthcare provider offices through inbound and outbound calls.
  • Provide updates regarding insurance benefits, benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and assistance options.
  • Help patients understand available co-pay savings and patient assistance programs.
  • Review documentation and verify eligibility for financial assistance programs.
  • Assist eligible patients with enrollment into manufacturer assistance programs and other available resources.
  • Manage approximately 20–28 cases per day while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Complete data entry, eligibility verification, and record updates within case management systems.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and HIPAA-compliant documentation.
  • Provide compassionate and professional support to patients who may be experiencing stress related to their treatment or finances.
  • Use critical thinking and independent problem-solving to move cases forward and resolve issues.

Help patients access the medications and support they need.

We’re looking for compassionate, detail-oriented healthcare professionals to join a patient support team dedicated to helping individuals navigate insurance benefits, medication affordability, and financial assistance programs.

As a Patient Services Representative, you’ll work directly with patients, healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, and program support teams to help remove financial and administrative barriers to treatment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or patient services experience who enjoys helping people and solving problems.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Schedule & Training

Training: December 7–11, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST.

After training, you must be available to work any 8-hour shift between 7:0 AM and 7:0 PM CST, Monday–Friday.

This is a temporary contract expected to run from approximately December through March, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

  • Pay: $19.50/hour
  • Remote position with client-provided equipment.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the designated equipment pickup location in The Colony, Texas.
  • Equipment must be picked up and returned in person.
  • A credentialing assessment is required and must be passed to remain on the assignment. Two attempts are permitted.
  • Required orientation will take place prior to training.
  • Due to the needs of the program, planned time off is generally not permitted during the assignment, with limited exceptions for pre-approved appointments.
