Forefront Dermatology in O'Fallon, IL invites a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our fast-paced clinic team. You will handle patient check-ins, verify insurance, and manage a multi-line phone system while supporting front-desk operations.

The role includes scanning documents, maintaining the waiting area, and handling co-pays and payments. Previous medical office experience is a plus, with emphasis on customer service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of medical office experience preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to type at least 40 wpm is preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
• Scans documents into electronic health record.
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter.
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments.
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record.
• Orders clinic office supplies.
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
• Distributes mail.
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.

Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
• Proficient in basic computer functions
• Ability to learn new software quickly
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred
• Must possess attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
• Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
• Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times
• Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

For this position, the base pay range is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training
