Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Patient Service Representative for our Libertyville and Gurnee clinics in IL. This full-time role works about 35 hours weekly with varied shifts, handling patient check-in, insurance verification, and front-desk duties.

Responsibilities include managing the appointment flow, maintaining records, handling payments and co-pays, and supporting daily clinic operations. Benefits include health coverage, a 401(k), PTO, life and disability insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of medical office or similar experience preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions; able to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Open and close clinic duties.
• Greet patients, check in for appointments, and verify insurance.
• Scan documents into the electronic health record.
• Maintain waiting area and reception area tidiness.
• Check schedules for added, canceled, and no-show appointments.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
• Respond to tasks in the EHR system.
• Order clinic supplies.
• Sell and track cosmetic products.
• Distribute mail and prepare for next day appointments.

This is a full time position and will work approximately 35 hours a week between:

Monday 7:30a-6:00p

Tuesday 7:30a-5:00p

Wednesday 7:30a-4:00p

Thursday 7:30a-5:00p

Friday 7:30a-5:00p

Saturday 7:30a-12:30p

Summary

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
• Proficient in basic computer functions
• Ability to learn new software quickly
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred
• Must possess attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
• Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
• Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times
• Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training
