Job summary

Corewell Health in Saint Joseph, MI is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join the care center team. You will support registration, concierge and clerical duties to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate record-keeping.

Your work helps deliver timely access to care and high-quality service across the clinic. Typical day includes greetings, appointment scheduling, insurance checks, data entry in EPIC, and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school based on entity requirements.
• 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients/visitors as a concierge.
• Handles clerical tasks: answers practice phone calls, schedules patient appointments, orders supplies, generates patient letters, processes mail and delivery, and processes registration reports.
• Identifies and reminds patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Documents patient calls in the EHR for call routing and resolution.
• Performs patient registration and check-in: confirms demographics and insurance information; assists with self registration.
• Performs patient check-out: schedules follow-up appointments or confirms future appointments.
• Maintains patient records per standards; uploads documents into EPIC.
• Performs basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participates in safety initiatives and completes required safety competencies.

Job Summary

As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you'll play a vital role in delivering top-notch healthcare service to our patients. Essential Functions

• Serves as a concierge - greets and communicates with patients or visitors.
• Performs clerical functions, including, but not limited to: answers practice phone calls; schedules patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable; orders supplies; generates patient letters; processes/sorts mail and supply deliveries, and processes registration reports.
• Responsible for identifying and reminding patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Documents patient phone calls in EHR for call routing / resolution.
• Performs patient registration and check-in: confirms patient demographic and insurance information; assists patients with self registration and arrival.
• Performs patient check-out: schedules follow-up appointments or confirms future appointments.
• Maintains patient medical records according to standards; uploads Right Fax documents into EPIC.
• Responsible for basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Vocational/Technical One year certificate from college or technical school (based on Corewell Health entity and department).
• 1 year of relevant experience In insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or other related experience.
