Job summary

University Physicians' Association, Inc. (UPA) in Knoxville, TN is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative for a primary care office in Hardin Valley.

You will greet patients, gather forms for the EHR and billing, and verify insurance while supporting a fast-paced front desk. Ideal candidates have 6–12 months of medical experience, strong communication, and excellent organization and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of previous medical experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner.
• Ensure patients complete forms required for the electronic health record and billing.
• Maintain patient demographic and insurance information; verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays.
• Ensure good patient flow through the practice by timely processing of patients at the front office.
• Answer inquiries regarding patient registration or billing questions.
• Refer inquiries regarding medical care or treatment to a medical assistant or physician.
• Schedule patients with the appropriate physician.
• Document scanning into the electronic health record.
