Job Summary:
MedStar Health is looking for a full-time Patient Service Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Services team in Brandywine, Maryland.
As a Patient Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients by greeting them warmly, managing check-in/out processes, gathering demographic information, verifying insurance, collecting copayments, and scheduling appointments.

Primary Duties:

  1. Serve as the initial contact person at the medical practice or hospital department, greeting patients courteously and professionally.
  2. Manage patient intake, screen for emergent conditions, register patients, verify and explain patient responsibilities for payment.
  3. Perform check-in and check-out procedures, input patient charges, and verify demographic and insurance information.
  4. Coordinate efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department.
  5. Support organizational initiatives related to new technology, clinical programs, and improving the patient experience.

Qualifications:

  1. 6 months to 1 year of experience providing high-quality customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  2. Working knowledge of IDX/GE Centricity Business preferred.
  3. High School Diploma or GED.
  4. CPR Certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position has a hiring range of $18.33 - $31.61.
