Job summary

The University at Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine seeks a Patient Service Auditor to review and monitor patient records, discharges, and eligibility to support compliant clinical operations.

You will audit EHR documentation, billing practices, and clinical approvals, prepare QA and variance reports, and assist in resolving patient concerns while upholding accreditation and privacy standards within the dental education program.

Responsibilities

• Review and process patient discharges and reinstatement requests according to School of Dental Medicine policies.
• Monitor and audit clinical documentation, EHR records, and billing practices; facilitate provider reviews and corrective actions.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of patient records to assess eligibility and appropriateness of care within clinical education programs.
• Assist in patient advocacy efforts and help resolve patient concerns and complaints.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute quality assurance, compliance, and variance reports to leadership and QA/compliance teams.
• Perform other duties to support clinical operations.

The School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo is seeking applications for a Patient Service Auditor.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Review and process patient discharges and reinstatement requests in accordance with School of Dental Medicine policies and established eligibility criteria.
• Monitor and audit clinical documentation, EHR records, and billing practices across all clinical departments; facilitate provider review sessions and corrective actions to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, privacy, operational, and institutional requirements.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of patient records to assess eligibility, treatment needs, and appropriateness for care within the School of Dental Medicine's clinical education programs.
• Serve as a back-up and support patient advocacy initiatives and assist in the resolution of patient concerns and complaints.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute quality assurance, compliance, and variance reports to clinical leadership and the quality assurance and compliance teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinical operations.

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
