About Duke Primary Care

Pursue your passion for caring with Duke Primary Care, which offers family, adolescent, and internal medicine services as well as urgent, general pediatric, and virtual care at nearly 50 clinic locations across central North Carolina.

Patient Service Associate - Duke Primary Care Holly Springs

Hours: PRN Hours, as needed, mostly Saturday shifts from 7:20 am to 12 pm.

Summary

Coordinate and participate in duties related to daily clinic preparation, patient check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling. The role also involves customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling, and referrals management.

Work Performed
  1. Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing upcoming patients and completing necessary activities, including entering pre-visit orders and preparing charts.
  2. Handle patient check-in, verify and update demographic data, and manage alerts in Maestro Care.
  3. Collect co-payments, post balances, and manage patient records and documentation.
  4. Coordinate tests, procedures, and ancillary services, and explain billing policies to patients.
  5. Check-out patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and manage communication with physicians and staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong communication skills, basic PC and data entry skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to organize and prioritize work are essential. Ability to interact tactfully and maintain effective relationships is also required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school education or equivalent. At least one year of experience in customer service or healthcare-related activities, with effective multi-tasking skills.
