The Patient Access Scheduling Representative is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow in daily operations, providing customer service on phones, scheduling appointments, pre‑registration, collecting payments/co‑payments, verifying insurance coverage, reminding patients of appointments, ensuring referrals are available and prior authorizations have been completed for appointments, filing all paperwork into the patient chart, correctly taking messages and ensuring their timely delivery, communicating with insurance companies to verify authorization for care and medical necessity information.
