West Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Scheduling Coordinator II to manage scheduling operations, registrations, insurance verification, and pre-certification tasks. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and their representatives professionally and courteously.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Schedule appointments for office visits, labs, radiology tests, injections, and chemotherapy/infusion.
  • Coordinate new internal referrals and manage all relevant appointment types.
  • Handle patient no-shows and process clinic discharges as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling templates and optimize provider schedules.
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails related to scheduling inquiries.
  • Send out appointment reminders and rescheduling notices.
  • Report scheduling or workflow issues to leadership promptly.
  • Provide general administrative assistance and patient support.
  • Cross-train with other team members to promote departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist in onboarding new employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Overview

The Patient Scheduling Coordinator II is responsible for managing patient scheduling functions, including registration, referral processing, insurance verification, and pre-certification activities.
