Under the Director's supervision, you ensure front office operations run smoothly, assist as a department resource, and coordinate with physicians, staff, and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Five years of Medical Office experience required; includes clerical, computer experience and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Schedule

4 days/week between Mon-Fri, no weekends or holidays. Mostly 7am-4pm. Shift hours could vary slightly, depending on schedule needs.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The role of the Scheduling Coordinator is to assist the surgical department that schedule cases to be performed with anesthesia by effectively scheduling procedures/testing in addition to providing efficient clerical duties under the direction of the leadership team.

Under the direct supervision of the Director, the Patient Scheduling Coordinator assures all aspects of daily Front Office operations function smoothly and effectively as well as assisting as a resource and department problem solver.

What you will do in this role

• Oversee mail correspondence to providers, monitor flow of phone messages, chart prep, checking/reviewing order, authorization/precerts, orienting/training front office staff in Pain Management
• Assist with computer issues and concerns of staff as related to billing, scheduling, chart preparation.
• Address patients concerns and recovery.
• Responsible for ensuring the schedule runs smoothly and addresses issues related to this by checking cases scheduled by schedulers for accuracy, identify potential conflicts, troubleshoots issues that arise and confirms appropriateness of each procedure/tests being scheduled.
• Assures cases scheduled are consistent with appointment build forms.
• Works with leadership to coordinate meetings with physicians, office staff and others as needed when need identified.
• Responsible for coordination with vendors for clinical support when applicable while scheduling cases.
• All other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Five years of Medical Office experience required; includes clerical, computer experience and medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate with other Medical Office Staff.
• Ability to handle simultaneous functions.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and patient-facing, role.
• Looking for someone who is detail oriented, self-motivated, and works well with a team.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
• Good customer service and attention to detail required.
• Good telephone and communication skills required.
