Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM, is hiring a Patient Scheduler II to deliver exceptional patient experience, ensure accurate scheduling, and manage advanced visit types in a multi‑disciplinary setting.

The role verifies demographics and insurance, coordinates pre‑admission and invasive procedure scheduling, ensures prior authorizations and referrals, and supports patient communications and release of information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with medical terminology training.
  • At least 12 months of clinical experience and proficiency in prior authorizations, certifications, and referrals.
  • Must pass EPIC registration competency.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures, coordinates complex scheduling needs, and maintains strong organization under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent patient service using CARES, AIDET, and EPE, resolving complaints, managing conflict, and supporting patients in the lobby.
  • Accurately schedules patients, verifies demographics and insurance, explains coverage and financial expectations, and coordinates invasive procedure scheduling and pre-admit appointments.
  • Ensures all authorizations, referrals, and certifications are secured before procedures and communicates issues to stakeholders.
  • Guides patients through Release of Information processes, supports patient satisfaction efforts, and completes confirmation calls and other patient-relations tasks.
