Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Patient Safety Specialist will participate in the implementation, review, and support of the facility patient safety program and promote and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, monitor, and champion processes related to key patient safety issues.
- Model behaviors that embrace just culture, reporting, flexibility, and learning across the organization.
- Collaborate with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff to advance patient safety initiatives.
Position Details
- Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of clinical healthcare‑related experience.
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Knowledge of complex hospital and healthcare systems, processes, and quality/performance improvement.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Effective change agent with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to present to physicians, clinicians, administration, and support staff.
- Self‑directed and able to perform independently with minimal oversight.
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field.
- 5+ years of clinical healthcare experience.
- Other relevant certifications or registrations.
