Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Patient Safety Specialist will participate in the implementation, review, and support of the facility patient safety program and promote and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and champion processes related to key patient safety issues.
  • Model behaviors that embrace just culture, reporting, flexibility, and learning across the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff to advance patient safety initiatives.
Position Details
  • Minimum Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • 3+ years of clinical healthcare‑related experience.
    • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
    • Proven leadership ability.
    • Knowledge of complex hospital and healthcare systems, processes, and quality/performance improvement.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
    • Effective change agent with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to present to physicians, clinicians, administration, and support staff.
    • Self‑directed and able to perform independently with minimal oversight.
    • Ability to travel throughout the hospital.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field.
    • 5+ years of clinical healthcare experience.
    • Other relevant certifications or registrations.
