Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is recruiting a Patient Safety Specialist to support the Manager of Patient Safety and Risk Management in coordinating a comprehensive program aligned with the system's High Reliability goals.

The role focuses on investigating events, analyzing data, and ensuring regulatory compliance to enhance safety for patients, visitors, and staff while protecting organizational assets. A Bachelor’s in Nursing/Healthcare plus CPPS or equivalent within 18 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field.
• CPPS or equivalent certification required within 18 months of hire.
• 2–3 years’ experience in Patient Safety, Quality, and/or Risk Management preferred.

Job Purpose

The Patient Safety Specialist assists the Manager of Patient Safety and Risk Management in the coordination of the Patient Safety and Risk Management program necessary to Methodist Health System (MHS) strategic goal of becoming a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting a facility on a day-to-day basis through program coordination; investigating, analyzing, and trending patient safety events and data complying with licensing, accrediting, and regulatory obligations with the objectives of enhancing patient, visitor, and employee safety; and protecting the assets of the organization

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field.

Licenses and/or Certifications

If licensed, must be able to practice in the state of Texas. Certified in Patient Safety (CPPS) or equivalent or obtained within 18 months of hire.

Work Experience

2-3 years’ experience in Patient Safety, Quality, and/or Risk Management preferred
